Shake Rag Boogie began 10 years ago with Paul and Elizabeth Kosmas, and has its origins in their PeonyHill Picnic Party. Since that time it has evolved into a charity event, with people from all over the community contributing to make it a fun family event.
Shake Rag Boogie derives its name from the road on which the Boogie is held, Shake Rag Road. The Boogie is all about fun, food, and music. Always on Memorial Day Weekend, the Kosmas Family offers local musicians the opportunity to boogie down and raise money for local charities.
This year 100% of donations will benefit the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic. The Free Clinic believes that health and healing should be available to all people regardless of their financial capability.
The music has become a very special part of the event and there is plenty of local talent. All of the musicians donate their time and talent as well, so please show your support and appreciation to them.
Please come and have a good time and support a good cause by joining us at this year's Shake Rag Boogie!
